This week our challenge at Cheery Lynn Designs Challenge  is

For Mom
Here are the rules:
  • You MUST follow the theme and use at least one Cheery Lynn Designs die, of course, we would love to see more than one.
  • You MUST add a link to your blog post in the InLinkz at CHEERY LYNN Designs Challenge ; no back posting, only new projects are allowed
  • You MUST link to Cheery Lynn's Challenge blog in your post
The winner will be chosen based on merit by Cheery Lynn Designs. They will receive a $20 coupon for shopping at the Cheery Lynn website. The challenge will end on Sunday night at 22:00 Eastern time.

Each week when our challenge comes up I stop and think about how to proceed with the theme. less then a  year ago I lost my mother and always find myself still wanting to make gifts for her. This is an album cover I have designed and it could be used to put pictures in to remember my mother. (That is the stock photo in the window)
It is a very simple design but made me so very happy when it was done.
I used the following dies:
 Leaf

I started with this plain black album that i didn't know what to do with, I added some Prima paper and cut out the picture window. a great blank pallet to start with. Used some of my favorite Tim Holtz ink to do the edges and finish off here and there. I used old photo I believe, the very lightest shade.
I used my favorite flourish and most used die.I like to make many of these when i am cutting and always have them waiting to accent many projects. Can you tell that I shared some of the leaves? Love having dimension with my dies. I made a few different sized roses, some have many layers, some have just a few.

I loved how this lace border fit to use around the window and those doilies.
I cut two of the doilies then decided to use only halves-so now I have an extra one for a quick project. One last piece for the corners using the lace corners- just tucked in two corners.
I know this is a quick project but I couldn't be happier with the dies- they all look so elegant and perfect for the cover.

Album in A Dresser?

I have the cutest project today! This was one of the gifts I sent to my daughter for her birthday, I always love to send crafts that I have made.(You know I need to unload somewhere) I found this spectacular pattern  that Jinky was selling. RIGHT HERE.   Have you seen the great patterns Jinky makes? I knew I had to have this one!

This is my finished dresser! Now let me tell you that it looks a little crooked, it wasn't when I finished. Then this cute little black cat came into the room.
Ok, that isn't Pippie but she did either attempt to sit on the dresser or something like that!
Here is a couple extra views of what the drawers look like opened and of course they are lined and each drawer has a pearl for a handle and a little book in each.I used some papers and chipboard pieces from Fab Scraps to design this project. That pretty ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon of course!
These are all the drawers with the little books-This is an album so the books each have a picture of my daughters friends in the inside. I left a space on the backs so she could write something about them
I used a die cut from Fab Scraps as the mirror-just had to glitter it up some! and a vellum tag as the book label on the front.and a couple pictures of my beautiful daughter.Added a little greenery made with one of my favorite dies from Cheery Lynn.

So how do you like my out of the box thinking for an album?
Thanks for your visit and I always enjoy reading your comments.

Pippie says she didn't do it, she just wanted to see what I was making for Melissa and make sure her picture was included! (It was) lol

I am entering the following challenges:
Prairie Fairy Fridays- Anything Goes

Charisma Cardz Challenge- Chipboard/ Stickers
Paper Crafting Journal- Photo Inspiration

Ribbon,Roses,and Red

*** I have TWO posts today-please check out my other project***

Today I want to share an altered project I did with some Really Reasonable Ribbon and lace.
While out shopping at a second hand store I found this album with page inserts. There was just a red quilted cover-much to plain for my liking.
There is one of my favorite laces Noelle White Crochet Lace and added a border to the front and the spine.
White Silk was perfect for me to add to the two covers and tie a bow-there are eyelets on each cover.
I just knotted one end and pulled through each eyelet.
Wanted to share a close up of the ribbon and grouping of flowers and leaves.
Can you see the red pieces there? Guess what those are? The brads are from Lost and Found line.
I had these vintage earrings that just seemed to work with my design.and a Prima swirl finished it off.

So the next time you are shopping don't pass up those vintage books or items-you can use so many ribbons and laces to dress any item.

I am entering the following challenges:
Divas By Design- Anything Goes
Fresh Brewed Blog- Tie it Up
PaperCraft Star- anything goes
Truly Scrumptious-Use Lace
Whimsy Stamps Challenge- Use ribbon

I have an adorable chipboard album from Creative Cuts and More to share today for my project - grab a drink and check out my pictures.
I used the following stamps and product from Sweet Stamps :
This is the cover and is cute as can be.
One of my favorite things is the peppermint candy piece I stamped and wrapped in plastic from packaging that would have been thrown away.
All the pieces were stamped, cut out and pop dotted to the album page.

This is a couple of the pages and there is designer paper from CTMH and recipe cards from my stash
This is the middle divider cover. I used liquid applique to give the dimension for snow and door.
Red ribbon is from Really Reasonable ribbon.
This is the last back cover page.
I hope you enjoyed  my Chipboard album, I really am thrilled I got to share with you.
Please come and join our challenge this week, you just need to use something with CHIPBOARD...use your thinking cap I am sure you will think of something.

Huggin Mary's Wizard Of Oz Mini Album

Well I back today to share another  Castle Mini Album & Chipboard Set  from Creative Cuts and More.
My friend Huggin Mary used the same set I did and this is her version of the project she made.
I set up a small class in my craft cave-(we met weekly at my house) and we all started with the
Castle Mini Album & Chipboard Set  and a package of Wizard of Oz paper.

If you missed my version- I showed it yesterday here on my blog and at Die Cut Divas blog.
This is the album stacked together. Mary used the faces of her family members in many of the characters.
This is the front and back of the first page.

The second page-Guess which character Mary used for herself?

This is such a fun page-both sides!

This is the last page, I think she did a wonderful job-What do you think?

So glad I could share-Please leave some love for Mary-I know she is a stalker of my blog! LOL

Wizard Of Oz Shape Album from a Castle

Yes, that title says it all.
There is a great die cut album from Creative Cuts and More called Castle Mini Album & Chipboard Set.
I decided to do a project with three of my friends using this album
We all started with four pages-two acetate and two chipboard. We all purchased the Wizard of Oz paper in 8 x 8 to work with.
Let me start with all the pages together
I tried to get a couple views with different light
The first pages front and back

The next set of pages
I made a few extras to slip in between the pages.

This is a close up of my favorite page.

I wanted to share this as inspiration- you know you can order some mini albums and make a class for you and some friends. I hope to share a couple of the finished albums ,when they are done.
Pop over to Creative Cuts and More to check out the Shape albums- you will have to let me know if you make a unique design
