“Hippity Hoppity… Easter’s on it’s way!" And so is SPRING! (although we are still getting snow here in WI.)I know Spring is coming...
Welcome to The Altered Page blog hop today
You should have arrived here from the 6th stop-
Tina Riley http://www.parablesproductions.blogspot.com/
If you didn't arrive from there I would strongly suggest that you start at the beginning Angela Holt http://www.theblingtheory.blogspot.com she is the creator and leader of this wonderful idea
If you happen to get a broken link or lost along the way , just pop back to her blog and check out the list.
I'm so excited to be a part of the blog hop!!I was beyond thrilled when I found this great ning site to get inspiration and share what minimal skills I have compared to some very talented ladies.
The theme for the Blog hop is Easter/ Spring. With so many ideas hopping around here is what I made.
I am guessing around 1940 but it could be older.
I started by distressing the Vintage Love GLITZ papers with both water and then Tim Holtz distress inks.
Have you tried this ripping and inking technique?
Some I created with my Cricut. Some are fabric, or twisted papers.
I even used an old piece of broken jewelery to accent this cluster.
The blue eggs are from a Stampin Up stamp set I have that has no name on the container. All card stock is from CTMH. I actually got this pleated piece of lace at Hobby Lobby on a roll and sprayed it with a smooch spray to make it this rich color.
I used a few of my favorite pearl swirls from Prima and a distressed kraft tag from Kraft Outlet. They sell some wonderful packages so you can try a lot of kraft paper & products out. Most of the layers are brown and Kraft colored card stock-love that combo with older pictures.
My next layout is from a kit I purchased from my idol Pinky at TallyScrapers. This is from the Blooms & Wings April kit. This beautiful girl is my oldest daughter.
I used some of the BoBunny and Melissa Francis papers and distressed the pieces just like I did above.
Wanted to share a close up of the details-I added a few things from my own stash such as flowers I made- pearls and leaves. I also added some of my favorite Prima bling swirls and some paper doilies I sprayed with some smooch from the kit.
I also have been fascinated with the corrugated cardboard and wanted to add some in.
The last thing is the butterfly I altered with a GCD Chip Art alphabet stamp from Melody Ross
Please check out below if you would like to win an alphabet set and chipboard of your own
So are you ready to collect your word???
One word that comes to me that means Spring is ( GRACE)- new beginnings and a chance to start over.
Now your next # 8 Hippity Hoppity blog is Kathleen Ford TXANGEL528.blogspot.com

ReplyDeleteThe only way I can alter a card is by tearing. I do not have the craft supplies to do much.
ReplyDeleteI am following through Google. My favorite distressing is ink and frayed edges. I adore your wedding photo.
ReplyDeleteI buy used kids books at Goodwill or Salvation Army, and yard sales. The books have to have hard pages and I cover the pages to make mini albums. It's fun to get books that have an animal shape or other different shape.
ReplyDeleteI love to alter pages by adding glitter and flocking! Nothing better than texture and shine. =) Thanks so much for everything!
