March is National Craft month!
Our theme this month is: Favorite Craft Techniques
 I LOVE,LOVE,LOVE to alter items!!!
It was a really ugly drawer box until I went to work changing that. That is Tim Holtz tear able tissue tape, using a script and also a musical note design. Even going so far to add a distress ink in picket fence of course.
I bet you can't believe I even used Tim Holtz inks to distress with also. Those doilies were in my supplies and I like having them inked.
Using many flowers, ribbons, trims I distress with inks and glue and stickles.
I was thrilled to be able to use pearls and decorations. If you would like to see a better view of my altered project- check out this video of my Craft room.
Now hold on a minute I have a couple announcements to share and even a giveaway!!!

The Buttons Galore and More are having a challenge hop that will start Saturday, March 9th use the
DESIGNERS CRAFTS link.

Since it's National Craft Month, there is a Designer Crafts Giveaway - a collection of product from FabScraps.

So Let me begin!!!
First I have a fun glitter house I made and then I am going to share some of my favorite quick crafts I have done and hopefully inspire you to try some of your own.
I used many of my glitters and mixed and matched to cover this entire house. This is the smallest house size out of the largest three so you can get an idea of the size.
I took the time to use many supplies I had sitting around just waiting to be used, bet you know what I am talking about if you are a crafter.
I wanted to share how it all started with just glitter and tinsel  and I love the shine on this house.
Another close up to show some of the details.

This is one of my past favorite crafts to make,a food project!!! Hot cocoa packets just in time for the cold weather.

How about a quick hanging ornament  with some fun layers.

I have a Christmas canvas I made with many layers and some fun graphics from NiceCrane Designs.

Smoothfoam™ Blog HOP

Smoothfoam™   Blog HOP

Welcome,
I am here today to share a fun blog hop with a new product I got to play with.Smoothfoam™  is such a versatile project and so easy to work with. I hope you take some time to hop through all the blogs and check out many projects.

There is also going to be a giveaway for this blog hop- It is going to be the supplies to make this
snow person...isn't he spectacular!!!

To enter to win, you need to leave a comment on  the designer's blogs. Tell us what you would make with Smooth foam... The more you comment the more chances you  have to win.
Let me share two projects I made just for you today. Both are display pieces and are using the same type Smoothfoam™  shapes.
 Smoothfoam 1/2" Diam. BALL
 Smoothfoam 5/8" Diam. BALL
 Smoothfoam 3/4" Diam. BALL
6 diam." x 1" Disc Smoothfoam
8 diam." x 1" Disc Smoothfoam
These pieces are amazing to work with, they can be sanded, painted, altered.I also like that you can use pins and glue and it holds together really well. I used two shades of Americana Deco Art Acrylic Paints, One color for the top and a different for the edge.
I used Aleene's Tacky Spray and added a snow white glitter to accent the top
These silver snowflakes were in the Christmas Decor area and was perfect for my home decor piece.
I also wanted to share that I used adhesive dots and sticky dots to attach pieces.
This is the bottom piece I altered with my Craft Blade from Wescottt. Then I sanded to smoth where I cut.
This is the bottom layer, and I used a pleated ribbon to make a skirting around the base.
Next I wanted to share that I pulled some of my favorites together to accent this piece. I chose a two sided ribbon and cut it in half...can you see that I started to build a snow person?
How about a couple views of my centerpiece...I made a snow person and added a few extra snow pieces on the side. I used the cut ribbon to decorate the snow person and the full pieces to outline
Next I used pins and toothpicks to assemble and hold several pieces of Smoothfoam™  together.
I even used a couple pieces from a Christmas pick to accent my piece.
For my second piece I made a Cloche out of recycled items and Smoothfoam™ .
For visual reference I am sharing a couple sizes here and a colored version so you can see what I did.
Just cut off the top of the bottle, and cut off the bottom of the container.

Used a miniature glass bulb from the holiday section, just removed the attachment.
I pulled out my glitter from above and decorated the bottom of the jar and attached to bulb inside the top of the bottle.
I kept this project very simple and plain, pulled apart another Christmas pick and used a couple pieces to accent my decor piece. I used the smallest circle and cut it down a little more. I used some beige trim to make a skirt. Now I just need to decide what to place in the inside
I used some beige ribbon to make a bow to accent the neck or top of my cloche.

I hope you enjoyed my projects and will take the time to leave a comment so I know you visited.
Check out the  Smoothfoam™  blog and Smoothfoam™  Facebook page, there is even a Pinterest Page you can check out more projects.
The winner will be announced on our Facebook Page on November 19th.
