A Small Gift Tutorial (heavy in pics)

I decided to play around with a quick idea and decorate a small box.
I used  Purple Cows-Craft Geek-Stamp It.
Are you ready for a tutorial? I made the pictures smaller but you can click to have them open larger for a slideshow
 I cut the base at 7 1/2 x 7 1/2 out of Core'dinations small dots paper
then scored at 2 1/2 and at 5' in both directions
I made sure all the score marks are folded
I folded the corner in to make a triangle, then cut off the bottom of those pieces.
This is what it should look like at this point all creased I also cut that corner folds up until the middle
To decorate I used pink and purple to accent on the brown. I used my Smart Trimmer from Purple Cow
This Smart trimmer is the Cadillac of trimmers let me tell you! lol It could even slice bread!
Each square measures 2 1/2 so I cut the pink pieces to 2 1/4,I decided to cut these all in half

These purple pieces were cut the same size and way-I did not cut in half this time.
Next I pulled out my distressing tools and gave a little distressing to the pieces.
Wanted to share a close up of where to place the paper piece when stamping a design -there is actually a small mark on the top where to place your paper.

I wanted to show you how easy it is to use the Stamp It-there are magnets that hold the stamp and the block fits into a groove each time for a perfect alignment.
Here is what all the pieces look like before putting together.
Here are the pieces put together-isn't that a pretty pattern? I used Memento ink in brown and green.
All the squares were matted and placed on my base.I also decided to add feet to the box at this point.
Next I need to make the box top
 My lid size is  4 1/4 x 4 1/4 I scored all sides at 3/4'
I made sure each crease line was folded and snipped only one side of each of the corners.
At this point I decided I wanted to add eyelets to the corners so I used my crop o dile to make this go faster. I really recommend adding eyelets you could make holes but the eyelets keep them from tearing.
Here is my finished box and ready to be filled with a treat. I sure hope I shared all the steps clearly.
The ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon and just worked perfectly with the colors.
I am so glad I got to share this fun design and my tools from Purple cows.

I would like to enter the following challenges:
Crafting Your Days Away- Paper piecing
