Decorative Tri-Fold Egg Tag Steps

I have been so lazy about posting some of the things I have been working on...sorry!
Do you know how it is when you get busy and then there are certain things you keep putting off?
Well mine is posting new things. Maybe if I wasn't so chatty...lol
That will never change!
I have been working on some of the most ornate and decorative albums I have ever seen or made myself. It all started back many months ago when I started purchasing kits from Kathy at Paper Phenomenon.
With the Valentine one I made two different albums and still had stuff left over...
So I purchased the last Easter kit and finally sat down this past week to really work on the correct way to make an album.
Today I will share the tag I made that goes in the album , Kathy has cut files on her blog if you would like to make some of these with your Cricut. It used  only the Easter cartridge  I believe for this pattern.Stop back  Friday to see the album it is just amazing!!

Step one: Cut out two sets of two scalloped eggs with card stock.Join or overlap two to join and make a tri fold egg tag. Pleat ribbon around egg shape this will be the front or cover so to say.I would say this was around two yards of ribbon and I didn't use it all on just this one egg, but was glad to be prepared with enough.

Step Two:emboss extra egg shapes you can use patterned paper or card stock- I chose to use card stock so I could emboss and have it show.
Next Step : Place the embossed egg on the front to cover the pleating edges. Now some might not mind these showing but I needed to cover.
Here is the front / top of my decorated  egg. I used string of pearls to edge the ribbon for an extra touch. I also chose to use flowers from Fred She Said that you can purchase uncolored or colored in several hues. I purchased both and love that I could layer these on the front. They are called Big Dahlia flowers.
Here is the front view of the decorated version
Here is the decorated back side of the tag.
All the decoration were included in the kit...I haven't even finished using all the supplies but I am almost done decorating at album.
Hope you enjoyed this tag post and stop back on Friday to see the Album

  13. Yes you have done a brilliant job of recreating Kathy's album & eggs. She'd be very proud to see you have done her .cut file proud. Others can get the cut file for free from paper phenomenon & see Kathy's other beautiful creations. Again well done on your production.
